Books, Bread, Berries & Baby

This week has been busy.................................
The garden is coming in full force!
Got an Amazon box yesterday......
I'm wanting to enhance my recipe box
to include more options to serve greens

And protein and fiber........................

I also received two new Roses......
Both are Heirloom Runners...
Joseph's Coat and Lavender Lassie

We will be leaving at dawn Friday morning to travel to my
son Todd's home in Stillwater, Oklahoma to a family reunion.
My granddaughter Mandy(Todd's Daughter) is there visiting
from Germany with my great-gran Amy Suzanne. She will soon
be seven months and this is the family's first meeting of her.
This is Todd holding his first grandchild............

What a Princess she is! All three of my children and spouses,
and all my grans and this great-gran will be there!

I got this Bread Machine a couple of months ago. I call it my
Willow Manor Copycat Bread Machine as Willow has one and
she sold me on one! I made my first loaf Monday night. I forgot
to get a picture! Any hoo, it was delicious!

I used what was left yesterday morning to make
French Toast for breakfast...................
Fresh Strawberries and Sausage made it a fine meal!

Oh....let's not forget that 100% Pure Maple Syrup!

I married a Prince! I really did....................
He went out in the hot sun yesterday and
picked me a gallon of Wild Blackberries off
the fence line!
I bet I ate a pint of them yesterday!

Well now you girls give some thought to joining me in
the mountains!

I wonder who gets to name all the plants and flowers. I find myself choosing, sometimes by the name. The baby is so cute. I just love babies. Your food looks delicious. I envy your long growing season, that is one of the things I miss most about living here in MN. My home is in Washington State. I did alot more gardening there.

Those blackberries look good! Do you make cobbler? My granny used to pick blackberries and make the best cobbler! :)

Oh...we are far from ripe blackberries! Guess we'll just have to wait.

Have a wonderful trip.

The blackberries look delicious, their not ready around these parts yet, but I keep checking.

I eat so many greens I can't believe I'm not green! And lucky you for having wild blueberries - excellent for the brain, and delicious too. I know you are going to make lots of memories this weekend at your family reunion. Have a great time!

The photo of Princess Blue Eyes is so precious!

Please let us know if you find new greens, new recipes that you like. I thought southerners were required to eat our greens only one way--like our grandmas fixed them.

Enjoy the reunion, ours is the next weekend. We don't have ripe blackberries until after July 4th. Blackberry cobblers are the best.

Beautiful family, Carol! We've had lots of rain, it's raining now and the water table is still low! My poor garden was hit by frost a couple of weeks ago and hit by rain since then. I've got plants to put in the ground...hopefully Friday.
I did manage to get in six thornless blackberry plants Daddy gave me. They are doing well, lush and growing. I adore blackberries - cobbler, cake, jam...

Ooooh, Princess is sooo cute! Aaahh, you are going to Oklahoma....*sigh*
Thank you for sharing your cookbooks! I love looking at cookbooks, I have quite a few myself. I just stare at them and make my husband nervous...lol

Those berries are my favorite. I made a pie with them last year and I think I ate the whole thing by myself.

Speaking of sugar. That baby is a cavity waiting to happen. Her eyes!!! So beautiful.

Ah, all those foods look yummy. If I indulged in all that yummy food, I'd be wadling instead of walking!

Our blackberries won't be ready until around the 4th of July.

The baby is precious!

I bet you're looking forward to that family reunion. I know I would be.

Later.....
