A World of Rare Treasure

Today I thought I would share some of the gorgeous pictures of some rare and beautiful flowers and wildlife sent to me by different friends via e-mails. First is the Glass Wing Butterfly...............

It's wings are transparent thus giving it the name....Glass Wing

This Butterfly is found throughout the Central America to Mexico range....

It seems butterflies are becoming scarce. We have many butterfly attracting flowers in our yard but have only seen two or three all season.

Next is the Parrot Flower from Thailand...........

When these pictures surfaced on the Internet, they were so unbelievable that Snopes checked it out!

I could hardly believe it myself

How lucky are these girls to be witness to an entire bush of them?

I don't know the name of this bird or who sent me the picture but this is an awesome species!
UPDATE : Vicki Lane commented that this was an egret, so I looked it up. It is indeed an Egret, the Egreta Alba and it shows these plumes during breeding season!

My friend Maggie Stone sent me this picture of the Gold Digger Orchid

And this one of the Alligator Fern found in the Amazon Rain Forest...................

How sweet is this? A mother Black Bear in Wisconsin with a white cub?

Snopes checked these out too and found they were authentic!

I want to thank everyone for your comments and e-mails this past week! I don't know when I have ever had such a busy, sad, and hectic week. I read all the comments, tried to read as many of your blogs and comment as time would allow, but between canning, cleaning, book signings to attend and funerals, I've had a full week! I hope to get to everyone soon and answer those e-mails too! Have a great Sunday and a great week ahead!

Angie....thanks Cuz! I'm taking it easy today! I've sat through some awesome preaching at funerals this week and done some serious life reflecting so I'm just kicking back today enjoying the beauty of this world!

I love the glass butterflies - what beauties. I wonder what causes a black bear cub to turn out white? A Polar Bear Father?

Oh, beautiful rare treasures indeed, Carol! Thank you for sharing them. Hope you're having a good Sunday, enjoying your beautiful farm, and cute puppies and all. My mantra, when things are not going well, or too much sadness hangs around is "I'm too blessed, to be stressed!" It helps to remember the good things in my life.

We had torrentail rains and fierce storms overnight. Even lost power for a couple of hours. But the power was back on early this morning, so I could get ready to go to church. I didn't like the storms, but am so thankful for the rain!

Later, gator. :-)

I especially loved the glass winged butterfly. Awesome!

The egret is such a graceful bird.

Some weeks it is a relief they are over...

Last week was too long for me. This week I go back to Springfield MO, but this time for fun, a photography workshop...

Hope

Those were all amazing photos Carol, and I especially liked the Parrot Flower! I noticed less butterflies and bees again this summer. That is disturbing.
Summer has also been keeping me very busy...it's hard to be inside on the computer when the weather is so nice.

So sorry to hear that you recently had some sad losses. Hugs and prayers for you!
