GOOD NEWS

I am a firm believer in the effects of prayer! Especially when there is a chain of believers praying! " where two or more are gathered in my name"
Thank you all so much for your prayer , hope and good thoughts!

After the trip to the GI Clinic yesterday, I had a message to call my PC Doctor for MRI results!
The MRI showed that both breast had benign cysts! Treatment? A mammogram in 1 year!WHEW! I dodged the bullet on that one!! Also, I got an A+ on the Colonoscopy !

As with all things it seems, there is some bad news. When I was in Flat Rock,NC for the wonderful Blue Ridge Bookfest recently and being given the royal treatment by my dear friend author
Sherry Austin, I may have been given the best gift ever!A life saving gift! As Sherry and I sat on her beautiful screened porch gazing at my beloved mountains, we discussed my upcoming Colonoscopy. We also discussed my digestive problems. She told me I should have an Endoscopy at the same time to see about the digestive problems. I was a little hesitant at the thought since I had never had one and thought there was already enough dread of the Colonoscopy. In the long run she convinced me. I came back and consulted with my GI doctor and set it up. She was right, I never knew a thing about either procedure. During the Endoscopy it was discovered that there were two Gastric Polyps in my stomach. These show NO symptoms and are usually discovered by chance, during a procedure for other reasons as was my case. They are often malignant and the cause of stomach cancer. Dr. Farmer took biopsies of both. So now I wait again for results! But early detection is a lifesaver!

I love you Sherry! Now that is a good friend! She's a keeper!!!! * MUWAH *

"Not OZ - But A Magical Life Still"

Who doesn't love the movie " The Wizard of Oz " ? What a magical life these friends lived on the screen before our eyes discovering the REAL meaning of life! No, Mississippi is not OZ. Swiftwater Farm is not OZ ...............

And No, my name isn't Dorothy....but I still live a magical life. Yesterday across this country and around the world via a magical thing called the Internet, a magical chain of prayer was formed around me and today as I prepare to go for an MRI....I feel the magic!

The same magic I feel when I see a scene like this one from the Appalachian sky!

The same magic I feel when I get an Award from someone who thinks I deserve recognition!
( I am ashamed to say I forgot who gave me this and if it was you, please tell me?)

The magic I feel when I see a beautiful book such as these!

Or see the magic of these baby birds waiting for mom to feed them!

Magic! These guys are pure, sweet magic to me!

Growing and loving each other..........

Sleeping flat on their fat little backs like their Daddy! MAGICAL!

Magical! Tomatoes, onions, peppers, cabbage and spices turn into to delicious Chow/Chow

Cucumbers, onions and spices make a magical side dish to meals! Magic in a jar!
( that box, is full of ripe tomatoes)

Magical that I can make and share this bounty with family and friends! Magic from the earth!

Thank you for your prayers, concern and personal stories shared on yesterday's post!
I am expecting it to work MAGIC today !

" The Power of Prayer "

Today I want to share with you a situation that has been on my mind lately. A few weeks ago I went for a routine mammogram. Well... it turned out to be NOT so routine after all. It came back abnormal. I received a call from my primary care doctor saying that she was ordering a bi-lateral Sonogram. The word bi-lateral didn't register with me until I got to the radiology department and was informed that there were problems with BOTH breast and I would be getting a sonogram on both! This was a rather time consuming and I might add, painful ordeal. After about an hour of this, the radiologist decides he needs another mammogram. Four views of one, three of the other. Think of the pain of a routine mammogram and magnify it by 3 when they are trying to film what they already see as foreign!
Tomorrow, I am going for an MRI on both breast! After two mammograms and sonograms, they have NO idea what lurks in either. I saw the films and both are entirely different things! I am a firm believer in both prayer and positive thinking! Last night I had a dream in which a woman was saying to me that there was nothing at all there and she said; someone was praying for you!
So today, I'm asking you to pray in hopes that tomorrow, whatever was there, will have disappeared!
