" Spooks, Storms & A Tour of The Farm "

I love all the images of Halloween! I love Ghosts, Goblins & Haunted Houses & Cemeteries !!

The Paranormal fascinates me! I 'm sure it's because I've had several paranormal experiences in my life and believe that there is so much more to this than some believe..........

I lived in a haunted house for 3 days in Joelton, Tn (a few miles north of Nashville) in 1974.
It was NOT a friendly spirit either! I've seen a full body apparition on NOT one, but two different occasions!! So yes, I know it's real!

So as Halloween creeps up on us, so does stormy weather...........Just before dawn

The storm clouds were gathering...........

There is a 100 % chance of storms tonight..............

Some could be severe the weather mans says. I hope they don't include heavy lightning and high winds!

Or make our skies as scary as this ...................

Last night Hubby and I shelled Pecans while we watched the Travel Channels Spook Shows!

This morning I went on a tour of the farm.........This is the Turnip Patch!

This is a Tropical Hibiscus that has gotten huge.............I'm going to cut it back and mulch it good and see if it will come back. They don't usually come back unless you keep then in a greenhouse.

This Cigar Bush dies back to the ground in winter then returns in the spring.

Some of the Roses are still blooming............

As are some Marigolds............

Love this Mandavillia! It will have to be dug up and put in the greenhouse.

These Orange Cannas keep reaching for the sky!

The Joseph's Coat is blooming again!

This Hot Pink Hardy Hibiscus must be 9 feet tall! We will cut it back to the ground in a few weeks. It will get even taller next year!

There are a lot of plants in the greenhouse that could still be out for awhile longer but we are just going to leave them in till spring because it's just easier to water them there.

These are the 2 Pagoda Bushes I ordered. We won't plant them till Spring.

I got these 2 fig Trees in Lafayette, Louisiana . We will get them out soon.

My pride and joy is this White Canna ! It has really grown and has a new shoot!
Those 3 little sticks in the long planter are Red Hardy Hibiscus..........

Ahhhh......my girls! There are several that should start laying anytime but in the meantime,
Miss Trix gives us an egg a day!

And Ole Oscar keeps the girls in line...........I think! May be the other way around!

Now after we got through with the Entertainment Center Hubby says: "no projects for awhile, I've earned a fishing trip"! I say; " you go for it" ! What does he do? Gathers the scrap lumber up and builds Roxie a DOG HOUSE !! HA!
MEN! Will we ever figure them out?????

Of course all 5 had to investigate and smell it! Roxie has spent this last 2 nights outside in it and did great! No barking! Not a peep! She will come in tonight though because I don't want her out in bad weather.................

I hope everyone had a good week and will enjoy this All Hallow's Eve !!!!!

I enjoyed your Halloween post and all the wonderful photos. You've got some beautiful flowers and have a lot ahead, getting them ready for the winter. How nice of hubby to use every bit of the building material to fix Roxie a nice dog house - even before his fishing trip. He truly is a keeper.

Have a great Halloween and keep those goblins away on Saturday night!

That's a handsome rooster! We still have a few roses blooming too -- there've been some frosts but not hard enough to kill everything.

Everything blooms and grows at your place! Wonderful but I hope that from now on ,you will only meet friendly ghosts! It's a very exciting time for the children. I don't think that it's celebrated here in Holland, though last year I did a sky watch post about Halloween, completely with witches flying through the sky .Have a great Haloween, Carol!

Great Halloween post! You are so lucky to have a greenhouse. AND to have such a handyman husband.

Loved this post. You truly enjoy Halloween. It looks as though you're ready for bad weather, moved stuff into the greenhouse, and have begun to dream of spring. Nice of hubby to give Roxie a new house. I hope she appreciates it. HappyHalloween!

Have a great Halloween, Carol free of bad spirits that go bump in the night! I loved all your beautiful pictures but that eerie sky is amazing!

Have a super fun weekend and the thang' about men....don't even try!

Hi Carol, I really enjoyed your spooky post! I love Halloween! It is just such a wonderful, colorful time of year. I miss the kids getting all excited about it. We have not gotten any trick or treaters in the past 21 years (except some family) because we live way back in the spooky woods!! Happy Halloween!
Loved the plant posts too. And of course the lovely new doggie house.

It's nice to see blooms on plants yet. Not so up north.

Good looking chicks!

Great post, Carol.... I love seeing your 'farm' (including your plants/flowers, chickens, doggies, etc.)...

You have a very talented husband. Roxie will love her new home. Think she'll have to share with the other pooches???? ha

The storm is headed our way also tonight --but the radar has most of the severe stuff down your way.

Hope you enjoy Halloween. Just don't let the goblins get you!!!!! ha

Happy Halloween.
Hugs,
Betsy

I think I believe in spirits- you know those roaming without a home. Is that the same as ghosts?

Love the dog house.

Interesting post.

I will be collecting goblins tomorrow night...some of them I will be kissing. Please don't call the cops.

Halloweeennnnnnn!

I've seen some things too --

tell your stories - tell about the 'haunted house' !

I know I've asked you this before...how come you get all the good skies?
Enjoy the plants that you still have....Ours are mostly gone.
Extra hour this weekend!! Have a great Halloween.

Nice pictures of your plants. I don't like ghosts. If you like haunts, turn on the Travel channel right now, Ghost Hunters is on live at Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, WV.

Love your Halloween post, Carol! Enjoyed all of the great photos, but especially, the tour of your garden. You've got so much going on and I admire your energy! Have a great weekend!

Want details on your paranormal experiences. That sounds interesting.
Love Roxie's house, I could never get a dog to use one. Glad she gets to come in when bad weather hits. I think she has your number.

That was a truly wonderful post! Thank you for sharing the delights of your home. Those skies are amazing.

Ps:Carol, thanks for your kind words about my book. What you read was chapter one and a snippet of two, I have fixed my write up. so I hooked you at the beginning which is an ego boost to say the least! Thanks for the support and positive encouragement.

No use building a doghousr or current 4-legged resident. She would consider it an insult to go from a 3 BR 2BA LR Den Kichen to a one room no HVAC hut!

Mis Trixie is Queen of the Roast. Abundance of pecans is one thing I miss about Texas. Their natives are best tasting by very small. They will grown in AR but not thrive.

I am not into paranormal but I have encountered some unusual things, like an heirloom clock of my husband's family which would only run if he wound it. It is now back in his family.

Have a very Happy Halloween Carol!

I enjoyed looking at the flowers and shrubs that are still alive on your grounds. I hope the storm won't be too bad. Rain was predicted here but never came. We got about 300 "trick or treat" children so far!

I love the juxtaposition of the supernatural and the natural in your pictures and post..

I liked Deb's comment: Your post was a fun pairing of the natural and supernatural. I'm a gardener and a poet in California. My dahlias are still blooming, even after our first frost. Come visit me sometime.

I'm not much on scarey stuff! I had a great aunt that lived in a old house in the French Quarter and she saw stuff all the time and told us kids about it! It scarred me for life! LOL!
