" BLUE MONDAY "

It's certainly a " Blue Monday " here at Swiftwater Farm ! It's raining, misty and cool. I love this painting by Artist Thomas William, titled " Blue Monday" !

Rain drips from the Glider..............saying softly, today's a day for slowing down!

Choose a new read from the TBR shelves..................

Make a pot of Ina Garten's CHEDDAR CORN CHOWDER...............

Whip up a batch of Jalapeno Corn Muffins.............

Dive into a bowl of Cake Batter Ice-Cream for desert...........

Do like Henry, hang out and keep dry.................

Gaze out the window at the last offerings of Summer.............

Take a break like these Happy Cows....................

Rest up so you can watch our home town infamous QB try to get revenge tonight on his old team on Monday Night Football!

HOPE YOUR HAVING A GREAT BLUE MONDAY !!! :)

Oooh I would love the recipe for the jalepino and corn muffins. We have a glut of jalepino peppers and I could use some recipes so they don't go to waste.
I love the blue Monday picture.

Dry blue Monday here, but had a ton of Monday errands, including this afternoon's trip to an electronics place 15 mi away. My SUV'a backup camera quit. I depend on it as I am short and don't see what is immediately behind the vehicle. I dread hitting a child or pet too short for me to see.

You've been busy!!! Corn Muffins or cornbread with jalapenos is a favorite of mine

It is cloudy but getting "lighter" so hope for sun is still there. I'll have to get to hummin' my "Sunshine" song again.

That looks like a lot of good comfort food. Rainy and cloudy here today, perfect for a Blue Monday. I love Mondays for some reason I cannot explain.

Love that caption showing Favre... I hope the Packers cream the Vikings also. I used to like Brett so much---NO MORE. (How 'bout our Titans? GADS!)

It's been raining here, Carol. That cheddar corn chowder sounds yummy. We had a fire in the fireplace all day yesterday and watched some shows we had taped with our new DVR. WOW--do I love that thing!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

Looking forward to Monday Night Football here too. Never, NEVER thought I'd find myself hoping for the Vikings to win, but it is what it is. (Brett is one of my most relished grand slam 'hits' since during his very first NFL game appearance I remarked to someone else "THAT boy is gonna be a superstar! Just you watch!") And I've been wishing for chili and those jalapeno corn muffins would be AWESOME with some, I bet.

I love Henry's vantage point, safe and dry from the storm.

It's raining, cold and dreary here as well. I might even try to take an afternoon snooze so I can stay up for the entire game.

BTW: I LOVE Ina's corn chowder.

Out in the Pacific Northwest the sun is shining brightly. It is cool though, perfect for that comfort food, especially those corn muffins!

Save me some chowder and muffins and tell Henry I am on my way. Of course I have to call in to work first and it will take me a few hours to get there but...

Oh my gosh! The house could be my MIL's, the farmhouse my Hubby grew up in. It is designed exactly like the one in the pic down to the little side addition for the heat source and wood storage. It is stuccoed on the exterior. It's really amazing how they look alike.

The meal looks delicious! Have a great Monday enjoying everything!!!

Enjoy your book and stay snug and warm. My kind of day. Hope you will soon be getting more than one egg a day and then you will have to figure out what to do with all the extra eggs.

I love Mondays. New day, new week, now adventures. The painting is so quaint! All the pictures are great, and the food talk makes me hungry. Perfect Monday for everything except the football. Sorry, no like that game. Thank goodness I don't have to watch it!

I love Ina Garten's cookbooks. I own three. I must search for that soap recipe right now! It's not raining here, but it's chilly, and I'm glad of it. Those muffins don't look too shabby either!

The painting is lovely. Really lovely.

It's a wet and icy blue Monday here. You're right - perfect weather for slowing down. But, then again, with all that cooking, you didn't really slow down, now did you?

Oh girl. I felt like I was covered in a quilt reading your post today. LOVE that painting. LOVE it! Isn't that soup so wonderful? Oh yum. I made Pioneer Woman's Cauliflower Soup and it disappeared in a New York minute.

You had me up to the football. Gosh I want to like football. I love the idea of watching football and having football snacks....but I just can't sit still and watch it. :-/

The only thing missing at the lake was a fly fisherman in the background danciing his fly out between the rain drops.
Nice pictures. They make me want to skip work tomorrow. I would need a small sack of those muffins to take along though.
Dreams only dreams....

We had a " Blue Monday " too , but I'm just Thankful for the rain. We're in a moderate drought , so the rain is a wonderful blessing.

I am having a Blue Thursday (month of travel photos lost), but your wonderful food selection really cheered me up! Jalapeno muffins, my dear, that is good living and would you believe me that here I simply cannot find corn as sweet and fresh as American one? Plus, some nights I dream of fried Okra (I loved Sunny's!)?
