" CHARMED" Brett Favre

The color of the Jersey doesn't matter, his age doesn't matter, NUMBER 4 on the front and FAVRE on the back is MAGIC !!!

I know some of you don't watch NFL Football but I'm doing this post because Brett Favre is probably the best player to EVER play this game, he lives here in Hattiesburg and there has been so much flack about his retire or not retire indecisiveness. Going up against his former team of 13 years last night, drew record viewers for Monday Night Football!

University of Southern Mississippi............Golden Eagles

NFL GREEN BAY PACKERS.............

NFL NY JETS

NFL MINNESOTA VIKINGS................
In a 30-23 victory last night over Green Bay, Brett Favre became the ONLY QB in NFL history to beat all 32 Teams in the league !!! Brett will be 40 years old on Saturday October 10th. He plays like he's 20! Keep playing Brett, we will keep watching !!

Count me among the NFL football aficionadoes.

And last nigh's game was amazing. I actually began to feel sorry for the Packers before the game was over.

However, my Cowboys need some reality checks in their team management and ownership. Their QB who idolizes Farve, and is much like him, has given away two games with his reckless gunslinging mentality. This is a morale breaker to the rest of the team that has played well.

Until the management accepts this and comes up with a game plan that accommodates it, they are not going to win despite much talent.

I know NOTHING about football - and even I know how amazing Farve is!

Keep going strong dude!

I watched most of the game and glad Farve's team won! I love him too, but did not know he lived in Hattisburg! That is cool, to have a local guy that has accomplished so much.

I think the Green Bay defense was watching him as well. They certainly stood around there and gave him all the time in the world to get the passes off. It's as if they had a pact among them, "Let's don't touch Brett."

I'm still quite unhappy at your "boy" acting like a spoiled adolescent during his "first" retirement. Yes, he is probably the best quarterback to play the game, but I'm still very happy the Packers didn't give in to his childish tantrums. The only time I'll watch him again this year will be in early November when the Vikings travel to Lambeau.

That said, my husband still has the autographed poster of him hanging on his study wall alongside his other Packer treasures.

There are some names that will always inspire because of their love for what they do. Brett Favre is one. But at some point you have to wonder what's left for him to prove? The older he gets the greater his risk of serious injury and early death.

I loved Brett WHEN he was playing for the Packers. I agree that he is a great football player. I don't think that he should have retired ---IF there was a chance he would play again, or acted the way he did when he decided to/not to retire. I can't blame the Packers for moving on--not knowing what he was going to do.

It didn't bother me much when he went to play for the Jets--but to play for the Vikings just irritates me. He's like so many others---he FOLLOWS the money I guess. Maybe that is all good, and I know he gives back alot to Mississippi and his community.

SO--guess I'll say GOOD LUCK, Brett. But--I still wish you were playing for the Packers.
Hugs,
Betsy

I love the child like glee with which he plays the game, still at the age of 40.
He has been fun to watch, when not playing against my team, but do think his actions these past few years have really taken a toll on his image. It is a shame for he is truly one of the greats of the game.

I'm not a football follower but this guy does sound impressive. Did you see the funny cartoon at the end of Mountain Musing's post yesterday (about Favre)? The link is on my blog - it made me laugh.

Hubby is a football fanatic so a game is always on. I curl up with a good book or some other project while the games are on glancing up every now and again...not a fan,but aware of my surroundings! :o)

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!!

Now I can speak intelligently to my husband about him and his latest victory. I could have sworn Brett was a baseball player :(. Good thing I never mentioned THAT to my husband :)!

I can't even figure out how to pronounce his name correctly - it's like Ben Stiller in Something About Mary. I sound like a total moron.

He did play great last night. My son was so disgusted with the Packer defense he had to shut the game off.

My son has a shrine to Brett Favre. A wall of memorabilia to him - as a GREEN BAY PACKER! We, of course, had the game on last night. As much as I love to see Brett play, I found last night that I can't cheer for him anymore. Broke my son's heart when he retired - and then didn't. He had grown up watching him practice every summer in Green Bay.

Am glad he had a good game, but wish it weren't with the Vikings.

He was awesome, wasn't he!!! Couldn't believe my husband stayed up 'til midnight--Brett was so brilliant, he didn't want to miss a play.

Didn't realize he lived there. Neat!

Can't stand football, but am always amazed by women that are fans.

Oh the stories I have heard about Brett Favre while I was at Southern Miss! I am not a big pro football fan, but I do love college football. However...I do keep up with Favre and a few other of the pro players.

I miss not being able to watch any more NFL games and thank heaven that at least I can keep up to date by reading the Sports Sections online!

One could get sick and tired that nowadays there are so many pages devotes to trivia and mean things about "celebrities" - as if they were not humans like you and me.
