Paperback 2009 ISBN 978-0-7387-1480-6 ( 206 pages)
This is the first book of the Myrtle Clover mystery series. Myrtle is the 80 something year old mother of Bradley, NC Police Chief Red Clover. Her son thinks she should attend senior meetings and knit, Myrtle has other ideas about how to spend her golden years! Solving a murder is more to her taste! Myrtle is a sassy, nosey Grandma who knows how to use her age and common sense to get around those who give her no credit for a lifetime of accumulated wisdom. She'll show them just how much spunk is left in her and how NOT ready she is to be "put out to pasture".
A delightful cosy mystery! An easy read you won't want to miss! I will be passing on this signed copy to one of you commenter's! So get your name in the pot!

Congratulations on your award Carol, and thank you for passing it along....your so sweet.
I love your gnomes, of course they have been displayed in English gardens for many years now, and last year, I finally acquired three of them myself, they are quite mischievous ;)
I'll check out the series. Congratulations on your awards.
Myrtle must be a very brave and clever lady! Somebody like Ms. Marple or Jessica Fletcher! I like those ladies and the books about the mysteries, they solve.
Hi,...Love the Gnome picture..I will search for the book and it sounds like one that I have by Effie Wilder.."Out to pasture but not over the hill"..Have a great day and upcoming weekend...Will back to visit soon..I shall take your Kreativ award and give it to a friend blogger...THANKS

I just love the cover of Elizabeth's book, and how splendid your two gnomes look flanking a copy! Congrats on the awards, they're well-deserved.

That book sounds like a fun read. I agree with Wil.
Those gnomes are loaded with personality. They sure look comfortable inside.
I hate to tell you this Carol, but gnomes give me the heebie jeebies!! Sorta like clowns do.
Congratulations on these awards, Carol!
Love the gnomes and book review.
I have a small poem book to review if I get around to it.
One of my bloggers visited me today. What fun. and she, her daughter, and husband thinned a lot of Naked Ladies. I bet we both will be posting some near obscene remarks soon.
I'm new here and have enjoyed what I have read so far. What a wonderful, interesting life you have! I'm heading over to amazon right now to read more on this book/author. Always like recommendations from others.
Thanks so much for featuring my book today! I LOVE the gnomes in the picture...perfect. I'm tickled pink to be on the Writers Porch today!

Hey thanks Carol. How did the pepper butter turn out?
Carol_ I am going to love your recommending books! I am an avid reader--currently reading Greg Iles--The Devil's Punch Bowl. I have to make myself do life's necessities when I get very involved in a book!
Sounds like a wonderfully fun read, Carol. Just what I need. I'm going to look for it. And the gnomes look like they enjoyed it.
Have a great weekend!

Gnomes really freak me out - they are way popular and I see them everywhere, so I feel like I'm being stalked or something.
