"Saturday Junk Hunt "

Well on Friday it was raining so we didn't make it to any yard sales. Instead, we were busy cleaning and reorganizing both deep freezers so we can pick up our beef at the processing house next week. Today however we hit about 10 sales! Several of you "Chicken Women" crossed my mind when I saw this table..............

This was my treasure of the day! A Winged Back Recliner............
For $ 20.00 !! It is like brand new! I still can't believe I got this chair for that price!

Here's a pic of my small stuff..........

A brand new Card Shuffler for 50 cents!

A Parmesan Cheese Shaker for 25 Cents..........

This is a little hand painted shaker for 25 cents..........

I love glasses this size and these are thick glass. 5 cents a piece! I got 6....

There are 2 of these cut glass nut/mint bowls. 25 cents each !

A heavy plastic pie pan cover for 25 cents!

Cute little wire basket with a wicker bottom for 10 cents!

$ 2 dollars for this silver plated cream and sugar set!

50 cents for a brand new Corn Cutter!

A 3 piece Pyrex bowl set great for holding measured ingredients when cooking. 25 cents !

These 2 Hummingbird pictures were $ 3 dollars and will go in the guest room which has a Hummingbird theme!

And of course you know all sales have books! I got 3 cookbooks. The 2 Emeril books sold new for $25 dollars and do not look as though they were ever looked at. I paid 50 cents a piece for each of these hardbacks and $ 3 dollars for the P&P DVD ! Well that's my Junk Hunt treasure....

Theses are the books that came this week from Authors or Publishers............

And these are the ones I ordered from Amazon............

Hope everyone of you are having a great fall weekend! Happy Sunday ! :)

That chair was a buy! We looked yesterday at the local second hand barn for chairs for our guest cabin--$65-$95 and not good.

Wow, Carol, you really hit pay dirt today, especially with the nice chair and hummingbird pictures. And all of your neat kitchen finds, too. It seems like you're not finding this stuff, but rather, it is finding you! Enjoy and have a happy Sunday!

What super finds! It was raining Friday, here, too, but I still managed to run into one garage sale. Came home empty handed, though.

Wow---I love that wing-back chair, Carol... You got a great deal for sure--not only on it, but on your little items also.

Congrats.

Do you ever have a yard sale? Just wondering.

I love finding a great deal too. Happy hunting.

You are a shopper after my own heart :)!

Whatta deal that wing back recliner is! Good for you! Am eyeing that 'writer's houses' book with envy in case you want to pass it on after you get your fill.

Oh that chair is beautiful! You got some good treasures and finds! Hopefully we will soon be past the rainey season.

Sounds like my yard sale. We were downsizing to a smaller place so a lot of things had to go and they went very cheap. You would have enjoyed the deals we had but you are a bit far to come and gas is expensive so it would have balanced out. Enjoy your treasures.

That recliner was a HUGE bargain.
The other things are neat but only if you have a huge house as you pick up something every week.
Love getting those 50 cent books.
You are a real bargain hunter. I think my sister has met her match.

Wow! What a haul but the chair is the best bargain, and books.

Wow! I can't believe the treasures you always find. I must admit that I never go to yard sales, but you may have inspired me to get out there.

I love yard sales, but have not been in such a long time. Because, I need to have a yard sale because I have aquired way too much stuff. I love the pink chair! What a steal! I love glass, that is my weekness. I have a hard time throwing the relish jar when it is empty! They are just so good for storing stuff. But, I have to send it to the recycle bin because I have ran out of room!!
I love the hummingbird pics.

Writer's Houses book looks interesting! (You can read it in your new pink chair.)

Let us know if you recommend it.

Like Carolyn, I'm curious--DO you ever have garage sales?

Love the sugar and creamer. Also curious about the new Glassblower book you received. Have you ever read The Glassblowers by Daphne Du Maurier. She wrote Rebecca turned into a film by Alfred Hitchcock. The Glassblowers takes place during the French Revolution. Read it in a world history classes based on literature.

Oh Oh Oh - that CHAIR! Carol - I covet your new pink chair!!!

I must hit the same sales as Elizabeth, 'cause the only thing I can come up with at yard sales any more is ugly ol' lamps. LOL!

You did great, Carol - good for you!!

You really found a lot of neat things on your outing. I never seem to be that lucky. I have a sister in Hernando, MS. I better see if they have these great places to sop around there.
