" A Room With A View"

Except for hanging some Artwork.........
the remodel of The Writer's Porch is finished !

Click on pictures for closer look.......

When I sit at the PC and visit with each of you...
If I look to the left, this is my view........

And...to the right this is what I see.........

For once in my life...I have empty bookshelves for all the wonderful books
yet to be written and discovered by me...yipeeeeeeee!

So the view begins with my Tennessee Titans
wall....a tribute to # 9 Steve McNair /NFL/ MVP 2000
It was watching "QB AIR McNAIR " that made me love
NFL Football.............Notice my signed football
from Steve for my birthday!
For those of you who don't know the story...
The Writers Porch name comes from a poem I
wrote in 1991 titled, "The Writers Porch" honoring
Caroline Gordon, a wonderful Tennessee Author,
whom I was fortunate to spend time with many years
ago .........
This is my TBR shelf....I have three wooden letters TBR
that I am going to paint and hang on the wall above it.
These are actually standing on top, not in a shelf......
And...there are many more unread books in the shelves.
I plan to live long enough to read every book here !!!

Looking from the southwest corner to the northeast corner..

This is a mirrored shelf unit I bought to display my
Grandmother O'Gwynn's antique dishes in but
it ended up in this room displaying some vintage books..
and a few collectibles.......
Looking from northeast to southwest..........
From the entrance door to left corner......
the bare wall above the shelves will be for Cades Cove
Art I have bought over the years....
I discovered a wonderful idea for display that will save a
lot of money on individual framing.......
A future project!
This is some of the Artwork stacked against the bookcase.

southeast looking northwest at the exit door.......

I love this room! It is only 13x13 and I have it full wall to
wall with all of my prized possessions! I can write or read!
I can watch TV, A DVD or VHS movie.....
I can surf the net and visit you....
I can listen to music.........
Or.......I can just gaze out the window or at my books..
This is my little quite corner in a big busy world and I
am so pleased you came by for a tour !! Do come again!

It's turned out wonderful !
What a delightful place to enjoy, a little reading, surfing, writing, staring out the window.
A lot of effort, but well worth the while.......
Enjoy ;)

I see you like books as much as I do!

What a wonderful nest you have made for yourself!
That is my dream -- to have a room filled wall to wall with book shelves, save one wall that will be all windows for light and air, along with a window seat for daytime reading, and then a comfortable chaise lounge in the middle with a good lamp for nighttime reading. :)

I enjoyed looking at your book titles and seeing which ones I've read and have on my shelves waiting to be read.

Enjoy your special place!

What an inviting and relaxing place. I suspect those shelves will fill quickly.

Your porch is wonderful. How lucky you are. I spy a few Francine Rivers books and a John Maxwell that I have read. Good taste.

Josephine...I love it and yes, now that I have lived through it, I agree it was worth it!

Willow......I love books! It is my weakness as you can see! Did you notice I also have "The Forest of Arden"? Don't you just prize that book?

Pat...If I just had a Bay window behind where the entertainment center is, I could move my computer there and look straight at the pond!

Carolyn....If I ever get the TBR shelf read, one of them will be full!

Robyn....I adore Francine Rivers!
I have several of her books on another shelf, " Redeeming Love,
Leota's Garden, The Shofar Blew,
Sin Eater and Scarlett Thread".
Redeeming Love is one of the best books I've ever read!

That must be so wonderful to sit here and do all the things you want to do and you have a marvellous view. You read of course the book " A Room with a View" by E.M.Forster.I also saw two different movies about it.

Well, oh my! This is just about the most wonderful spot ever! Don't you just feel like you're getting a big hug every time you enter this lovely little nest of yours? Perfect Perfect! Enjoy it for many moons to come.

I love your writer's porch Carol! What a wonderful place for your favorite books and trinkets and treasures. And such lovely views to gaze at. Who could ask for anything more? And perhaps you will share your poem with us, one day soon? I would love to read it.

Loved your post. Have a wonderful weekend enjoying your writer's porch.

Hugs,

Renie

A perfect sanctuary! Thank you for inviting us in, now I can picture you as I come and visit. Do you find your books seem to breed behind your back? I am constantly struggling to find any shelf space - it's a complete mystery!

I smiled looking at photos of your "Room With a View", because I know how excited one feels making a room your own.
I have recently moved to a new place and "inherited a small library" I am eventually making into my own writing/reading/creating room, and even though there are many priority renovations for now, I can't wait until I get to my studio :)

Congratulations on yours!

Oh, I love your room, Carol. So cozy and filled with you. By the way...I see my 2 novels on your TBR shelf.
I have my writers studio, detached from my house and I just love it out here....I also have it filled with my treasures, music, books, and a view that inspires my writing. I think all women DO need a space of their own.

I'm glad Carol that it is finished for you to spend hours enjoying it! So cozy! I'd end up spending more hours gazing and daydreaming looking out at the beautiful scenery though!
We all need our own little niche...I'm glad you've got yours now!
