" A SUNDAY TOAST "

I was so sad to read yesterday that David McMahon @ AuthorBlog has given up blogging!!

It was one of the very first blogs I started following and I always looked forward to it! We will so miss David and his Post of The Day not to mention his Sunday Roast in which he spotlighted other bloggers and their great blogs! What a beautiful blog he had with all his wonderful photos and great wit! So here's A Toast To You David !!!!!

NO, He wasn't like everyone, he was and is VERY SPECIAL! IRREPLACEABLE In Blogland!

David has chosen to spend his time writing a book and I both understand and applaud his discipline. Thank you David for all your encouragement to each of us and we will sure miss you!! :(

I hope you will come by and say Hello often To ALL THE 932 Followers of Authorblog....................

As you know, I've been punny. Turns out it was a bad Sinus infection and after 36 hours of Augmentin 800, I'm much better. I HATE taking antibiotics but sometimes you have no choice.

I HATE also that on Friday I missed the luncheon in Jackson where The Mississippi Magnolia Southern Belles gathered to meet!! :( I hear they had a great time and that I missed picking up my 4th B'Day Cake !! :)

Since I felt like this and would no doubt have been rotten company, you girls are probably better off!! :)

My illness did not stop the book mobile from bringing the Amazon Box!
Can't wait to get into the pages of " The Oyster Dancer" as one of the characters is loosely based on Jennie Merrill of Goat Castle fame. Kevin Scrantz, the Louisiana author and I have become e-mail pals. He is as obsessed with The Goat Castle Murder as I am!! HA! :)

I know some of you have had way too much rain lately! We have had just a tiny bit shy of 8 inches this week. Soggy ground!

And foggy mornings..............The Sun tries hard to get through this morning

I love the fog, it just reminds me so much of the mountains!!

It is just eerie yet magical...........like there's a secret inside it!

If you look close or click to enlarge, you will see the ducks swimming.........

The flowers take on a mystical presence in the fog........this is an Iris bed that has been taken over by Goldenrod! Perhaps the cause of my Sinus trouble? Always more work to do around here!

Cannas having their last Hoo Rah!

All three Gardenia Bushes are full of blooms!

This caught my eye in the fog............Sparkling like Diamonds!

TC thinks he's hiding from the birds in this group of Mexican Petunias ........yeah right!

As I made my morning round to check on the girls, I took some shots of the Chicken Coop Spider!

She's pretty large but a beauty!

Today's question is.....will Miss Trixie GoLay take the Sabbath off for the 3rd week in a row or will she backslide and lay today? I took the girls and Oscar their daily greens this morning. I love watching their antics!

First off, Madame Willow refused to participate and went to the far corner! Wonder what's stuck in her craw?

Then Miss Trix pecked at Queen Vicki and really hacked her off! So she goes under the tin and starts squawking! NOW GIRLS, LET"S BE NICE !! :)

Then she jumps up on the nest box and says " kiss my greens, Trixie GoLay!! Gotta love them hens!!

The gang was all outside when I heard scratching at the door! Could you PLEASeeeeee let us in MOM?

TC thinks he's a dog and won't stop rubbing on us and it's nerve racking!!

AND JAKE.............he is still in a bad mood! Stays on his bed or the dogroom couch pouting and shooting dirty looks at EVERYBODY!

Well it's just about time for NFL kickoff between my Tennessee Titans and the NY Jets!
My Titans are 0-2 having lost their first 2 games by a field goal. One in overtime and the other in the last few seconds so they are HUNGRY for a WIN!! GO TITANS!
HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY EVERYONE!

What a treasure trove of books! So glad you are feeling better. I wish I had discovered AuthorBlog earlier.

As always, your photos are just magical.

thank you

Glad you're feeling better ... sinus infections are the worst!

How many books do you read a week? I know people who read up to 4 books a week, but that's not me. I have too many interruptions throughout the day, so one a week is about all I can struggle through. My TBR pile and wish list keep growing though.

I love your early morning pictures and those of your animals. Priceless!

What a wonderful post, so full of interesting things! Yes, I will miss David, too! He had just recently asked me to do a Sunday Roast interview, too! So happy that you're on the mend, Carol. Loved all of your photos and books, as usual.

I had a sinus infection for three months two years ago, I feel your pain. I too will miss David's Authorblog. And I hope him all the best.

Love the fog, the cat trying to hide from the birds and how she consorts with the puppies, visiting the chicken coop, and I have a dog room too.

Glad you're feeling better. I've been loving all of our foggy mornings as well. We haven't had 8 inches of rain here, but it's got to be close to it. Hope your game is a winner.

Glad you know what you had, were able to treat it and are feeling better. Sinus infections do need antibiotics. Know how you feel about tossing pelleted chemicals into our bodies. Sometimes you have to.
My Dolphins are 0 in 2 also. Hopefully we both turn around today.
Hey, even a chicken needs a day off.
Love the puppies at the door.

Almost forgot, thanks for the toast to David. What a great site he had and what a thrill to be one of his POTD picks. I was 184 to say how much I'd miss him, I'm sure there are another 800 by now. Your toast was perfect. Will look forward to his book.
OK now I am done.

I've been out of town and didn't know about David. Sad. He's the hub of our bloggyhood wheel!

I'm sick, too. Ug. Hack-wheeze-hack-drip.

Hope you're feeling top form again! Love the pics...looks like the real Green Acres in paradise. :)

I had never seen AuthorBlog either, but since you speak so highly of it and it's author, I'm sure it was the greatest. I guess writing a book is more important than blogging. In my estimation, lots of things are more impirtant than blogging, but to each his own.

Love the photos, althou I'm not a fog fan. We had fog here this morning, and I was glad to see it lift before I had the long drive to church.

Glad you're feeling better. Have a great Sunday eve.

Well Carol, by now both you and I are UPSET since our Titans lost another one. What's up with that????? There's so much talent there. Too Bad!!!!

I'm watching Peyton play tonight.. Hope he wins!!!!

Glad you are feeling better. I get a kick out of all of your chickens --and their behavior to one another. There's just like people aren't they???? ha

Nice tribute to your friend. Obviously, he will be missed.

If it were August, I'd say that you would get alot of snow this winter. For you see, the number of fogs in August determines how much winter snow we will have. Unfortunately we didn't have much fog in August... Oh Well!!!!

Have a great evening.
Hugs,
Betsy

OMG, I had no idea about David but will go visit after finishing this comment. I will say tho, that like you, I applaud him for choosing what's right for him, but will surely miss his input.

Love your foggy photos! And glad you're feeling better.

What a fun post. I love seeing the chickens. And the fog, and the dogs, and, well, just all of it.

Glad you are feeling better but sorry you missed your ladies day. That sounds like most fun.

Too bad (pout) you missed your cake at the belles get together! I hope you are feeling better, Carol.

The fog is so moody...it would put me in one! Looks like your pup on the couch is feeling fogged under too!

I will also miss David (Authorblog). It was generous of you to give him such a toastie goodbye. It probably took a lot of energy to keep up with his readers.

I'm envious of your gardenia bush. I cannot get mine to flower. I'm told if I work coffee grounds into the soil, it could help. What do you think?

Get better soon! xx00

I do not know that blog - I will go by and see, although a day late and a blogger short!

So glad you are better *smiling*

I picked up a couple of free books at the Siba trade show - can't wait to read them, after I finish "water for elephants" that I just began.

:)

I loved the sun through the fog pictures and amused by commentary on the hen house + 1 rooster. I see why men sometimes refer to us as old biddies, pecking order, etc. etc. not that I approve.

Glad the sinuses are better. So is my bronchitis but have a week or antibiotics to go.

Unfortunately David McMahon's blog topped my alphabetically arranged blog list so it hit me in the face first thing Sunday. But a BOOK..hey if I were so talented, I'd concentrate there, too. We can still follow his pictures.

And that commenting bug has gotten me, too! I'm just glad I can say hello to you here, and to thank you for your recent post.
