for a Garden Statue of St. Francis of Assisi.
I found this solid concrete statue in Natchez.
I got around to painting him yesterday.
He turned out so well, I painted these black pots too!
We built this garden last week to give St. Francis a proper
setting. It has three Larkspur plants in it. Yesterday I also
scattered a cup full of eight different varieties of perennial
seeds, I hope to have a beautiful wildflower garden here.
He is holding a bird so I added a little boy and a rabbit...

Carol, Those are such beautiful words to live by - so true and comforting.
Wow you sure have a lot of pretty stuff going on there. Love the pot you painted gold. Is that a hibuscus you have planted. Such a lovely place you made for the statue and I bet those seeds make you some gorgeous flowere. Can't wait to see them pop up.
Sorry you lost many some of your veggies to heavy rain. I think your temps were colder than ours on the last cool spell. Mine have so many trees on all sides that I think this kept them from the frost. The trees let the sun in during the day but shades early morn and evening. Good luck with the rest of your veggies. Post some pics of your vegetables.

I love the statue of St. Frances of Assisi. They have some really nice ones at the Home Depot garden center right now.
Mine is next to the pond, but I think I'm going to move him, and place him in the area where my cats are buried....

Your statue of St. Frances looks very good looking over your "garden to be." My neighbor got one of those statues last year, and she just loves it.

The garden is already beautiful, but when your wildflowers take root I'm betting it will be spectacular.. of course you will have butterflies, bees and birds flocking there too soon - here comes Summer, eh? (smile)

OH I love your St. Francis space in the garden. S. Francisco de Assis (as we call it back in Portugal) is very dear to my heart. I read his story as a young girl and some how always felt connected.
