I looked out the window this morning and saw
two Turkey Vultures across the pond with what
appeared to be a Huge fish. We have some Huge
Catfish in our pond and occasionally one dies and
floats to the side and the Vultures get it. We think
perhaps they may get stabbed by Henry, the Blue
Heron or Hemingway, the White Crane. Below you
see Hubby with a 14 lb Catfish he caught awhile back.
So I get the binoculars and I see the fish is big!
I report the activity to Hubby who walks over
to check it out. I see him pick it up and he then
yells; " get your camera, you won't believe what
killed it"! I run for the camera as he brings fish around.
We could not believe our eyes! It was a Bass
with a Bream(Blue Gill) to some, hanging out
of his mouth!!

It was too big to swallow and he apparently
got it hung and could not "up chuck" it out!
Hubby could not pull the Bream out without pliers.
So he laid it down to get pliers.

Haha, your title is funny! It's amazing though what happened -one of those "once in a lifetime" pics! (you should go to the local paper with these -they might get puclished)
sorry for the type: pubblished
Wow, those are some BIG FISH! Great true story :) My 6 yr.old grandson caught a 5 lb. small mouth bass at our lake and we thought that was huge!
Wow. Not exactly killing two birds with one stone, but two fish with one meal.
Maybe the pond is having a recession as well...every fish is hurting...get what they can! That is crazy....large mouth or not...he should know better than that
Wow,I've never seen that happen before. I feel sorry for both of them.
You made me laugh. Crazy fish. Glad you were able to snap a photo. That is a big fish.
This is an extraordinary event! So you got two fish in one catch.
Wow Carol... That is unbelievable!!! I've seen people get choked --who have gotten something stuck in their throats. SCARY!!!!!
Your point is great... Do NOT eat too much!!!! ha ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Unique photos, Carol. You should submit them to a fishing magazine/ website or your local paper.
Whoa, what an incredible story, Carol. If you didn't have the proof, folks would say you're making it up. Bet you could get a good penny for those pictures from some fishing magazine!
Next time I go to the buffet, I will remember not to stuff my mouth quite so full! Ha!
Hugs,
Renie

Oh, yuck!!
I remember there was a story in the news a while back where someone died drinking too much water. It was a radio show contest gone awry.
So even drinking water can kill ya.
Never have I seen anything like that!
That is some fish....fishes.
Unbelievable, but glad you caught in on camera.
You should have titled your post
"Don't bite off, more than you can chew"...lol
Yes, but at least you die happy! Oh, I saw that you grew up in a home of country music writers. Here is the first line of a new song: 'I wanna, wanna, wanna sleep in Clara's room!' Enjoyed your Southern tour with you and also your comment about the ghostly Muses that inspire your typing fingers. Thanks for my award! I am going to get round to posting them. Also I have ordered a copy of Vick's quilt book!
That's quite a fish story!
That is funny! Looks like his eyes were bigger than his stomach.
Love your blog, btw! I've been reading for a few weeks now and as a fellow Mississippian I am loving your take on the south.
Amazing story and pictures Carol.
Thanks for stoppping by 100 Words from Dublin.
