" April Showers bring May Flowers"

We had plenty of rain in South Mississippi during April and
plenty of warm sunny days which caused dramatic changes in
the landscape at Swiftwater Farm.....................

We ended April with a look at the vegetable gardens.......
We'll start May off with a look at the progress of the flowers..

But first.....remember the flowers pots I got on the Meridian
shopping spree...........

All full............................................

Hubby built this Bird feeder Pole.........................

A closer look.....see the Elephant Ears coming up in the
black tub?

Remember this picture ?

It now looks like this.........The Umbrella got a paint job !

How pitiful it is looking back at this.....................................

Which now looks like this........................

Thanks to Mother Nature, this no longer looks like this..

Its grown into this...........................

Spring requires a pot of fresh flowers on the table....................

A beautiful Foxglove Plant.......................

The Clematis is holding it's on..................
I'm not sure it will bloom this year though.

A room with a view........................

I'm on the hunt for red & white Petunia's to fill these pots

Another view of the Feeder Pole and Screen Porch..........
The Writers Porch is behind the window on the right.....
I can watch the birds feed as I blog..................

The room with a view, has a Nap Bed too...........
Hey, after all that yard work, we need one !!!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE !!!

Gardeners can see into the future. They look at a bed of mulch and tiny green sprigs and see a sprawling cottage garden, abloom with colorful flowers.

Your porch looks like a lovely place to sit a spell and enjoy a nice tall glass of that southern sweet tea!

Where to start.....wow! I absolutely love the kids with the umbrella! Painting the umbrella really sets it off. This is why I LOVE to photgraph flower beds, to see the drastic changes that have been made in such a short period of time. I love your bed...I would be napping all throughout the day!! Especially during a good rain! Have a great weekend

Hi Carol, Love seeing the before and after pictures of your plants and flowers. I also love your home/yard/screened in porch/pond or lake, etc...

I'll be glad to come and use the Nap-Bed!!!!! I'd want to sleep out there every night... WOW!!! How special.

Have a wonderful day and week. I'll post one more time in the morning--but then I'll be gone for about 9 days.

Hugs,
Betsy

Your place is looking so good and full. The gardens filled out beautifully. I would love to be sitting on your porch and sipping some wine or coffee.

Carol - hope you have a great weekend... Becca

Oh, a nap bed. How perfectly wonderful. I have always loved old houses that had sleeping porches. Could there be anything more divine than sleeping in one of those? Looks like you've got the right idea!!

And I love that foxglove!

You have an inspiring spot. I don't have a porch, but I have a deck on which I can view our rolling hills.

I really like those flower pots and so fun to have them filled. I'm still dreaming about what I'm going to put in mine.

Looking forward to seeing who comes to visit your bridfeeders. Do you have your camera ready? :-)
