This was the view from the room...........
Which made it so beautiful and calming........
Before going to pick up the new car the next morning we decided to ride out to Fort Pickens which is in the Gulf Islands National Park...........
We didn't know much history on the fort but learned that it built in 1829 to protect Pensacola Bay. During the Civil War it was never held by the Confederate Army and it was later used to imprison Geronimo. As it turned out we were there on the 150th Anniversary of the firing on Ft. Sumter which began the Civil War!
What we didn't know when we decided to go out there was....on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings the awesome Blue Angels from nearby Pensacola Navel Air Station do their practice maneuvers! What a WONDERFUL SURPRISE! Be sure to CLICK the pics for close ups!
They did so many formations and I wasn't sure I was getting any pictures because of the sun.
I would just point and shoot! HA!
After that was over we stopped by Landon Beach Pier on our way out of the park. This is a gorgeous beach with a huge pavilion, showers and rest rooms......a perfect place to enjoy the beach.
This boat was stopped out there doing some fishing..........
I thought this piece of driftwood was pretty..........
We then went to pick up the new car and drive her home. I posted on FaceBook that I needed to go to school to drive this car.....I really wasn't joking! I'm scheduled on Monday to take a class at the local Honda dealer on how to program and operate all those bells and whistles!!

Sounds like a great way to combine business and pleasure!
Don't ya just love those unexpected surprises! That was a very nice trip, the beach looks great, considering this time last year. And the Blue Angels, wow! Car is purdy too!
Congrats on the car, it is beautiful. I had to laugh just to hear they had classes to learn how to play with it's toys! Hehehee!
Your trip looked marvelous and seein' the Blue Angels was just the icin' on the cake.
God bless and have a wonderful day and fun with your new auto!!! :o)
Looks like ya'll had a nice little getaway in Pensacola! And your new Honda looks perfect for the mountains. Enjoy!
My husband was stationed a Pensacola sometime before we were married; Key West too. His Mother was very ill and the Navy tried to get him as close to SC as they could but could not manage Charleston.
The Honda looks nice. I have a Hybrid Toyota Highlander with enough bells and whistles to keep me busy to this day and I have owned it 4 years. It is front wheel drive--my choice.
Glad you saw the Blue Angels. They are awesome. So is the driftwood.
I have been reading a lot since I got my Kindle, some classics, a lot of Max Lucado, a new writer's first novel who used to be a pharmacist (A Promise to Remember).
May just take Kindle to LR next week w/o computer.
Made me smile and good work on the wonderful photos! Nice car, too!
What a wonderful treat to come with the car!
I hope you are safe.
Hugs,
Merisi

Wow! A great car and a super trip to boot. Have a good weekend.
Love your Honda, Carol! Nice! We just drove from Pensacola last night too. We go there a lot to visit John's dad. How timely and lucky of you to see the Blue Angels perform at the same time. The beach is lovely, we go there a lot too and Fort Pickens. Everything looks so familiar!..Christine
Hope you are enjoying a wonderful time at your mountain retreat!
I used to work near the naval air station and loved watching the Blue Angels fly by my window when they were in town. Lovely pictures.
