" Deck The Halls & A Winner "

Good Morning! Welcome to a Christmas Tour of our home on Swiftwater Farm! Don't be expecting a " Southern Living " house as my decorating is simple and comforting rather than fancy! Most of the stuff is old but holds lots of memories. If you entered by the the front door and most people don't, you'd see this very old wreath, made by me............

If you came through the carport, which most do, you'd see another old wreath made by me....

And....you'd see this on the left of the door..........

We're going through the front door and into the foyer for a look at the decorated Cabin Hubby made me........

Now this is my favorite decoration this year!

I should have cleaned up around it before snapping a pic........ :)

Hubby made me a 6 foot table to put my Dept 56 Dickens Village on.........

I have two more houses coming via the mail...........

2nd from the left is BOZ's BOOKS, a Christmas Present this year from my daughter Melanie

Here we see Dickens Birthplace, The Old Curiosity Shop, & Boz's Books..........

Here is my " Skinny" Christmas Tree....... I still have umpteen presents to wrap which is not one of my favorite things to do............

Even the clock gets a bow!

A few Santa's for Scarlett & Rhett...........Don't ask why I didn't turn the telly off....

Mine and Hubby's stockings...I NEED a TITANS Stocking !!!

I need Angel Hair (can't find any) under this manger scene too.......

A festive mantel..........

To the kitchen where even the pitchers get gussied up!

A Nativity on top of the fridge.............

The kitchen table..........

The cookbook rack.........have some M&M's...........

I made this wreath this year for the dining room door...I'm still decorating in that room so I'll show it later....... :)

My Christmas Cactus is trying to bloom..........

Yesterday I made Candy all day to fill the Christmas tins.........Divinity........

Peppermint Bark...........

And...Christmas Macaroons...........these are as rich as Bill Gates!

Today, it's cookies, cookies and more cookies! I know, your dying to know who WON the 1st edition copy of " Shades of Gray! Well, I combined the comments on Author Extravaganza (19)

the comments on Shades of Gray(29) and the 3 from The Book House Blog for a total of 51. I then asked Hubby for a # between 1 & 51. He said 36! I went back and counted to 36! It was

Wow, Carol, everything looks so lovely and festive! Love the Dickens Village. I'm just getting started, today, so you're way ahead of me. Congrats to Angie!

RNSANE...I need to make some NEW wreaths! Maybe next year!

Marguerite...thanks! I usually don't start till about now but Melanie is a Christmas Elf, she puts up 5 trees at her house! I got her to wrap presents at Thanksgiving and she wanted to put up the tree so it got me started early. :)

The wreaths and your little rustic cabin are my favorites. Hard to decrate here due to the resident cats.

I love your decorations. All your rooms just sing Christmas. I looked all over for angel hair a couple years ago to decorate the church and found it at a nearby towns dime store, I bought them out! Murr Drug, Cabool Mo. had the stuff.

Congratulations to Angie!

Have a wonderful weekend!

All your decorations are very nice. I have an old wreath that I add a little something more to each year. (If needed)
My fav is the log cabin too!
I am going to post some of mine soon when the mood hits me.
Thanks for sharing your home with us.

I love the old rustic cabin, too. And that sure is a nice place to put your village, my neighbor used to put hers in the large bay window in her dining room. Congratulations to Angie.

I love seeing that you make Divinity. When I was in college, my mother would make fudge, Divinity, and sea foam and send to me. I was QUEEN on those days.

Still think the cabin your husband made is such a tender gift. Oh my goodness!

Arkansas Patti said...

Your husband could market that cabin but then yours wouldn't be so special. He really is good.
Your house is so pretty. This is the only time of year I sort of resent my cats. Right now they are in a 12 step probram for "batting."
I just love that clock. It is awesome.

Betsy....Thanks Sweetie! I'm working on getting that stocking! Go Titans!

Thank you JoyceAnn!

MerryLee.......I'm making Fudge today but no Seafoam...

Patti...I think he will make more but mine will always be first and be special.......

OH how did I miss your giveaway! This book sounds like one I would love to have. Got to put it on my list of books to purchase.
Your home is lovely like you. I love how you showed it to us and the like you I love the cabin by the door your hubby made you.
I need to click on your post atom so I don't miss your post.
My life dream was to write a novel and started one 6 months before my husband left and only wrote one chapter after that and it was murder scene. How sad we give up what we love most when someone we love too much leaves. Double loss I guess you would say.
Anyway email me and tell me about your novel and how it is coming along. Maybe you could inspire to do something myself
Happy Holidays
