Today however the Sun is going to shine and here it is getting started........
I've kept very busy during all the days of being shut in. I made this wreath for the inside of the front door......
I have baked all kinds of goodies and made candy............Seems like 40 dozen
These are Cream Cheese Fruit Pound Cakes........They have a Vanilla/Rum Sauce Glaze on them.
There are 3 different kinds of cookies here...........
These are Rum Balls..........
This is Manna, a really simple candy. You melt an 11 ounce bag of butterscotch morsels
in a glass bowl in the microwave. Stir in 1 cup of peanut butter. Add 6 cups of corn flakes.

Stir the mix up well and form into balls or drop spoon fulls on wax paper. It taste like Butter Finger Candy Bars. You can also make it with chocolate morsels.
I've been a Good For Nothing Blogger these last few weeks but I have to get this all done by the weekend..........Then I'll be back on a regular basis.

Busy, busy, busy!
I'm so glad ya'll survived all the rain! You have been one busy gal. I love the idea of the corn flake candy. I may try it and dip it in chocolate. Sorry, but I have this motto: If it ain't chocolate~~it ain't worth the calories! Hi, my name is Nezzy and I AM a chocoholic!
Have a great day enjoying all your decorations and goodies!!!
Fruitcakes look particularly yummy.
I see you are making date nut cake.
Have you ever made date roll?
I'm not know as an overall good cook but I was the family reknown candy maker and this was a specialty among Texans.
It is unbelievably rich. Surprisingly my husband who claims to hate dates loves them.
If you don't have a recipe I have one out of a Texas cookbook. There is nothing particularly Texan about it, except popularity.
Some of ingredients include condensed, not evaporated, milk, pecans and sugar, low humidity day. I use a candy thermometer. It is rolled in cheesecloth or I used a clean white men's handkerchief.
Rainy here, too! I can't believe the mud in our yard (and getting tracked in our house by the kids!) :)

My, you have been a busy little bee! I am just starting my baking today. If I start too early, there is nothing left by Christmas. Everything looks so good. We too, have had lots of rain. I am happy for the break, even though it is cold. We did not get the last rain the folks like you south of us got. The cold beat it here. But still hard to walk outside without getting shoes wet.
Goodness, you have been busy! Everything looks yummy and the wreath is lovely. Christmas is special at your house.
You are doing what I wish I was doing. In my jammies and warm heater or fire going and baking christmas goodies with music on. You have been busy making all those sweets.
We certainly had our share of the rain too. Some areas here recieved over 12 inches in 24 hours.
You've been busy! I want to get some baking and goodie making done this Sunday. I am going to try the Manna candy....Mmmmm! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Wow now I'm hungry.
Hope it dries up for you soon! Everything looks so yummy! I love your wreath, just lovely! blessings,Kahtleen
Your goodies look yummy..hope it stops raining soon. We are very cold and snowy. I will be baking some tomorrow, hubby was home today so we went shopping. You sure got a lot done.
I feel like a slacker and a half.
Yum ~ I bet your house smells terrific , hope you're enjoying some of those goodies.
~ Holiday Blessings ~
You are busy Carol... Sorry about all of your rain. We have had some --but not nearly as much as you.
That manna sounds great... I may have to do that since I love peanut butter and butterscotch.. BUT--my 'biggie' to make (for my kids) is My Orange Balls.. That is a recipe from my mother.
Good Luck with your busy-ness.... That is what Christmas is all about.
Hugs,
Betsy
Good grief you've been busy! Ha! I've always heard God gave rainy days so gardeners can get their inside work done.
How are the chickens in all that rain? My girls don't like the damp weather at all.
Oh, I feel your pain about the rain! We've had tons of it, too and I'm ready to run away to a sunny island! All of your goodies looks so good, Carol! Love rum balls and the Manna and pound cakes look divine! You are so organized!
Yes, we had ONE day today without rain, but guess what? More rain is on the way. Could somebody please turn the faucet off!
Love looking at all those goodies, they sure do look yummy!
wow....you got a lot done while it was raining!
i'd have to go out on this sunny day and work some of those cookies off :)
hope you have a very sunny happy day.
thanks for sharing your verse with me this morning.

Oh my, you are amazing. One thing that aggravates my back pain beyond belief is standing in the kitchen and cooking/baking. So, except for making dog food, I've given up on it. When things get really bad, my husband makes the dog food.
So, I'm very impressed that you have the stamina to make so many delectable treats!
Catching up. Congratulations on your anniversary and I wish you many happy years.
Gosh you have been busy in the kitchen!
Have a good Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I love your wreath and those cakes look so yummy! Have a sweet day!
Everything looks so good! Merry Christmas!
Love the wreath you made. Very pretty!
If you dont box some of that up and send it to your daughter....our relationship will officially be under review!
What wonderful goodies and a beautiful, sweet wreath! Happy holidays x0
Who will eat all your incredible efforts? Do you give lots of plates away? Looks fabulous.
How are the chicken faring in the rain? I keep thinking about those chickens and hope they're providing you with eggs you need to make all those goodies.
What a great way to spend rainy days! Who gets all your goodies?
Yes, like me, it looks like you have been very busy. It's snowing here. . . a lot! Don't eat too much of the goodies.
You have been busy! I just been sitting watching it rain! I love the wreath. Just got up the tree and mantle done. Going to try and get all my peppermint dishes and gingerbread setting done for Christmas Morning. I want to try and make some candy.
You done tons, I hope one of those containers has my name on it! They all look so Yummy!
Christmas looks wonderful at your house! We've got about two feet of snow on the ground which has followed rain, rain and more rain. I'm not sure but I think I'd rather have snow -smile-.
Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas, Carol and belated Hsppy Anniversary.
I'm late, busy with shopping and packing. Thanks for all the baking, Carol. How do you do it?

HI, Carol, Merry Christmas to you! I see you are still baking, me too.
What a sweet story about your wedding too, I looked at that post. I love happy stories like that. May you have many, many years together!
Gosh you have been a busy lady. All the wonderful goodies you have produced. Enjoy a peaceful Christmas and my very best wishes for a Happy New Year. T.
You HAVE been a busy bee! But isn't it satisfying to stand back and look at it all once done? And even better when you deliver them to the lucky recipients?
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Carol!
Catherine
I hope you are having a very Merry Christmas! It looks like you've prepared enough goodies for all of Santa's helpers as well as for the big man himself.
