" My Motto"

You All Know................

During my recent 2 week stay in the mountains I read these 3 books.......
All are set in the mountains and all 3 were really great reads.......
I love Ron Rash and Silas House is a new favorite as these were my first reads from him!
These were all delivered while I was gone and I'm having trouble choosing where to start...
Have any of you read any of these and if so give me your thoughts ???

On a farm note.....
A friend gave us a cooler full of Pecans yesterday and we took them to the feed store to get them cracked. Turned out to be 45 pounds! Hubby has already shelled 2 gallon bags full and hasn't made a dent!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK EVERYONE and THANKS FOR STOPPING BY !!!!!!

The only one of your new books that I've read is The King of Lies, by John Hart. Loved it, immediately bought and read all his other books, and can't wait until there's a new one.

No, I am catching up on my years of not reading with older authors like Mitchum and Michenor.

I am going to start a classic next A Tale of Two Cities because I vaguely recall some themes that seeem to replicate the populace today. If I am wrong, I'll quit it and start something use. I just finished the Broker. Doesn't sound like the power brokers in Washington have changed any and in fact have gotten worse. But it shows how corrupt things are, and why NO Prez, regardless of party can escape become entangled. Money is the root of all evil.

How generous!! I was just wishing for a bait of pecans the other day. There is a guy up the road that sells them, and he has his sign out now, so I am going to get some soon!!
Shadow of a Quarter Moon sounds good to me! You are ready for winter reading for sure.

Decisions decisions. I hate when I have more than one book I really want to read. I envy those who can read several books at once.
Do I smell pecan pie in the near future?

I haven't read the others, but I LOVED "The King of Lies." I like all of John Hart's books and this one is a really good read.

BTW: John Hart is such a nice man. I had pre-ordered this book from my local bookstore. The day "The King of Lies" was out, he came to our bookstore. He asked if there had been any pre-orders and he signed every book that had been pre-ordered. It wasn't a scheduled reading or on the book tour...he just wanted to drop by our little town.

Hi Carol, We all have our passions. Mine is not reading ---but my mother loved to read. She tried to teach me when I was little---but I've never been much of a reader... Oh Well---I certainly stay busy with many other things I love... Glad though that you love to read so much...

Wow---that's alot of pecans... What will you do with them??? I would eat myself silly I'm sure... I love pecans... I also love pecan pies... Yum...

Hugs,
Betsy

Don't think I have read any of these so can't tell you how good they are.
Wow what a good neighbor to give you so many pecans. I bought a small bag the other day for a pie and it was $7.00. Out of sight.
Today I am making candy and pecan tarts. Hate to say that is about all I have done to get ready for the holiday.
Wanted to come by and say hello and to invite you to come by and enter my giveaway. You might want it to buy and new case. lol
Love
