My Birthday Present !

Woke up to a Foggy Morn Birthday...........

Love the look of the Mexican Petunias against the fog.....

Hubby asked me a few days ago"what did I want for my B'DAY"
I replied; " if we could redo the guest bath, I'd be a happy woman"....

So that's what I got for my birthday, a remodeled bathroom!
Now I don't have a picture of before....but it was not pretty!
Palm Tree wall paper from ceiling to floor.....
A Jungle shower curtain...
An open space behind the door which was 4 ft deep and 17 inches wide....
A ceiling light but none over the plain mirror....
I had NOTHING to do with the decor....it was that way when I moved in!

Now it has Wainscoting( I call it bead board) and chair rail.....

A light fixture over the now framed mirror we framed with molding....

A border with Magnolias and books.........

And that open space is now a closet with shelves.........

I had to order a special tension rod to fit that 17 inch wide opening and a 94 foot long curtain..
So I'm happy with my new to me bathroom...

We are going on a trip too......
If we ever agree on a place! I want to stay at Bocage Plantation on the River Road in Louisiana but Hubby is terrified it's haunted....

This is the room I picked out!

Hubby wants to stay here at The Cajun Village Cottages in the same area and take a daytime tour of Bocage! HA!

This is the bedroom of the cabin we picked out.....
I'll probably give in to him since he got so spooked at that New Orleans Mansion we stayed in last year on his birthday. However I told him these we old slave cabins and they might haunted for sure! :)

What ever the outcome......I'll share it we you guys!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND !!!!!!!!!!!!

We did a bathroom, master bedroom, hallway and guest bedroom redo three years ago. We were torn up all summer movin' walls and stuff but the outcome was worth the mess. Your is simply a remarkable transformation girl! :o)

Have fun on your trip and hope all the ghosts are friendly!!!

God bless and enjoy your birthday!

Happy belated Birthday, although it sounds as if the celebration is going to continue for awhile.

I'd love to stay in the mansion, but not in that creepy looking bed!

Mexican petunias. . . new to me!

Somehow I couldn't comment from LinkedIn! Your bathroom looks very nice -all the things you wanted -like the color scheme too! And a happy belated birthday, friend! (This is my second blog: Jeannette StG, or Jesh at FB)

Bathroom is gorgeous. I used bead board ceiling to floor in my kitchen when we remodeled, even though a majority of it was covered with new cabinets. The upper cabinets were lowered for my short stature.

Your husband is about mansions the way I am about clocks.

Hope you have a great time. I love Louisiana but humidity is worse than altitude on my poor lungs.

My husband said our next trip will be a ship reunion. I hope it is not the one in his recent newsletter is San Antonio which I call the year long heat and humidity capital of Texas!

But if God wills we will go. The only thing it will probably entail visits to all my different family members across Texas, all of which are ar least 200 miles apart.

Hope you had a good weekend at the B&B or the cabin. I kinda like the old rustic cabins. I bet they are neat. Happy Birthday. Mine is wed. the 28th. I'll be a grand ole 56.

I was catching up on the blog and that is so interesting that you were able to get so much info on your family. I would love to do some research too. Did you have to pay to get the info from one of the ancestry sites? which one did you use?

Happy belated birthday Carol! Your bathroom is really very beautiful. I also think it important to have a good bathroom. Easy to clean and every thing tidy. I wish you a great holiday! The cabin looks fantastic and a bit sort of Uncle Tomlike.

A belated happy birthday! About a year and a half ago my husband and I stayed at the Cajun village Cottages and enjoyed it very much! We actually slept in the bedroom of the last picture you posted. It is a very nice area as they have a neat little village there with various shops and a resturant as well. Also a very interesting antigue store. It is a little spooky at night lol! I'm sure you all will have a lovely time where ever you decide to go. Visiting the old plantation homes on River Road is one of my favorite things to do!
Blessings,
Debra
