We are finally getting rain !! We have not seen rain in 2 months! Our pond has NEVER been this low!
It has been a very busy time for the last month. I feel overwhelmed at times. My step-mother Jeanette, had a triple heart by-pass 4 weeks ago. She did real good through the surgery but had many complications afterward. She is still not back home and will probably be in rehab for a couple more weeks. My Dad who will be 83 in January, suffers from severe COPD and cannot stay by himself, also spent a week in the hospital. My 2 brothers, sister and I have been sharing his care. My younger brother came down from Arkansas yesterday to stay with him. So I'm heading out in the morning to Townsend to spend a few days in my little mountain get-a-way.
Until things get back to normal around here(if they ever do) I'll be scarce on the web. Please keep my family in your prays ?? XOXO

Now about that rain sister...could ya please send some my way. Our part of the Ozarks hasn't had rain for weeks and weeks. It's dry baby!
God bless ya sweetie and have an extraordinary day!!! :o)
All good wishes for you and yours. Stay strong...
Will do, Carol. Lots going on for you. Enjoy that retreat.
Stay safe and bring an extra blanket or quilt....snow flurries this weekend...!!
Enjoy
You know it, I will pray.
I'm sorry, Carol, for all of the health situations in your family... May God be with all of you????
Glad you are getting to go to Townsend for awhile... Enjoy yourself in 'God's country'.....
Hugs,
Betsy
My thoughts will be with you and the family. It's such a difficult stressful time when our parents are ill.
You're in my thoughts and prayers, Carol. Take care of yourself. We'll be right here when you get back.
We all need a prayer chain as we seem to have developed a multitude of maladies.
But aging certainly brings out a number of problems we may have neglected or been completely unaware we had.
SO prayers are zipping heavenward.
The lack of of sufficient rain certainly put a damper of on our fall color this year. In Arkansas I have witnessed two extreme color seasons in 30 years where the hills were aglow, or nearly on fire with color, enough to compete with the the northeastern states like Vermont. Not this year.
Foresters say our native oak population is suffering from from some disease called Oak decline and dying out. Funny how tree diseases seem to have "decline" in their names. We have sycamore decline, too. I think that is is just a cop out for the word slowly dying.
Being a family sometimes means more work than fun, but its the gratitude in our lovedones eyes that makes it all worthwhile, the "you needn't bother"'s that make you want to do all the more...don't worry about any of this, your rewards are piling up as we speak.
hugs
Sandi
My husband had heart surgery last January. It's really quite amazing what they can do these days. It does take a long time to completely recover, so hang in there.
Carol,
my very best wishes for you and your loved ones!
Hugs,
Merisi
Hope your Jeanette and the rest of your family is in better health now. Spending some time in your get-a-way spot was a very good idea. Love the decorating job you did... looks terrific.
Remember to take care of yourself... eat, rest and get enough sleep. And treat yourself to something. It is easy to forget yourself when you are so busy.
Glad you got the rain. Hope the pond gets filled up this winter. It is raining here now and should snow this weekend.
