" Frankly My Dear, I'm Gone With The Wind "

"Frankly,My Dear" is a wonderfully written book by Molly Haskell about the making of the movie GWTW........... This post is about a GWTW freak creating a theme guest room in her home to pay tribute to her favorite book and movie of all time............. I did not get the picture board done but the rest is done............PLEASE, click on pictures for full effect ?

I don't know about you, but when I open the door, this takes my breath!

Recognize those white shelves and bed crown?

I did not realize when I bought the wonderful print " TARA " by artist Gary George that it is the same scene from my Franklin Mint Egg " TARA"..............

Remember the Magnolia holders I hand painted? Left side of bed..........

" Tara" by artist Gary George..................

Right side of bed..............

A dressing table fit for any Southern Belle.............

Most of the jewelry belonged to me or my Mother. Some I got on EBay. All are Vintage Costume .

The tray, perfume bottles and hair and nail accessories are all Vintage EBay finds...............

More of the Vintage Jewelry collection........on the white hooks I painted..........

A " Passions of Scarlett " collector plate.....

Another look at the " Dressing A Legend" plates...............

My Scarlett " The Picnic " Doll.............

Pick out a book about the movie, its characters or author............

I got the poster framed...............

A different angle of same corner...........

From the window across ..................

A chair with a Vintage Shawl...............

Surrounding the chair...............

I got Melanie's plate hung above her picture..............

A beautiful window scene................

This was truly a labor of love and a really fun project! I am very pleased with how it turned out and can't wait for my guest to enjoy it...........

OH MY GOODNESS.... It's incredible... I have NEVER NEVER seen a GWTW room fixed up so nicely. You need to change your home to a B&B---and allow people to stay in that room. What a privilege that would be... WOW!!!!! Can you tell that I am totally blown away... AWESOME!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

I can just imagine how your friends and family will enjoy this room so. I could sit right down and curl up with the book. p.s. that book was read more than once by me.

A night in that room would make on think they'd died and gone to Tara Heaven. It's just breathtaking!

Ya'll have the best weekend enjoying your blessings!!!

All these pictures speak of the fun you must have had putting all this together (we won't speak about the work, will we?) and how well all turned out!

What will your guests dream about, I wonder. ;-)

What fun for you!

Now the question is - will you ALLOW anyone to stay in there? lol!

I think you are going to have friends and family begging to come stay in your beautiful new GWTW bedroom. Tara has come to stay.

Wow..so when can I come visit? ;)

I absolutely love the vanity table - particularly the tray of brushes and the beautiful perfume bottles behind it. That piece of furniture is just gorgeous. Just looking at your labor of love make me want to say "Fiddle dee dee!"

I love the dressing table, stool and jewelry which reminds of my Mother's to a T.

I have a few jewelry pieces but most everything went to a second hand dealer in Texas when we sold the house.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

That room should be reserved for only the very best people...and, of course, you MUST sleep in there occasionally for your GWTW infusion. You must have had such fun doing it, Carol. It is remarkable.

I just looked up the Super Bowl and am wondering if you had any overnight guests, especially happy ones?

Wow Carol !
It's turned out incredible, like being on a movie-set but none of the hustle and bustle....
I just love the swag above the headboard, and the picture Tara is breathtaking.
Now all I can say is who will be the lucky first guest, or have you already slept in it yourself :)
Great job !!
